Dear Quilters,

The creativity of quilters never ceases to amaze me! And in the case of Mindy Wylie, add in ingenuity.

When she appeared on the set of Quilt It! The Longarm Quilting Show she mapped out three segments for the show that had us all saying, “I didn’t know you could do that with a longarm quilting machine!” Then we got to taping the show.

First she dazzled us with the ease in which she stitched swag designs to her quilts. What looks complicated is simple: She just keeps adding curves using templates. It’s easy as pie but sure looks rich.

Then Mindy made a scarf on her longarm. Yup, you read correctly: a scarf. These beauties are quick to make and are an excellent excuse to buy some exquisite yarns. (As if we need an excuse.)

For her third segment Mindy had fun with trinkets and the kinds of things you’d find in a dollhouse shop to make cute little scrapbook quilts. She simply laid it all out of the longarm, decorated, and stitched.
