Welcome Message |
Applique artist Frieda Anderson giving her oral history for the Go Tell It at the Quilt Show project for the Quilt Alliance.
Dear Quilters,
Hello from Omaha! I’m at a meeting of the Quilt Alliance, held at the offices of Accuquilt. Oh my, is the place impressive! Not only do they have a quilt gallery, but they have a Dream Studio and the employees are required to sew for two hours a week. Imagine being paid to sew!
Just last month the Quilt Alliance launched a new project called “Go Tell It at The Quilt Show.” These 5-minute oral histories feature a quilter or anyone touched by a quilt who recounts their experience for posterity. Watch a video of the first batch of these taped by the crew from Quilters Newsletter Community. Watch Frieda Anderson and Tula Pink talk about their quilts.
Happy quilting,
Jodie

Quilt (and Way More) Like a Pro
Leslie Main
In this episode of Quilt It! The Longarm Quilting Show, shop owner Leslie Main shows us the ins and outs of the HQ Pro-Stitcher, the most advanced computerized quilting software available for the home longarm quilter. With the touch of a few buttons she makes a placemat from piecing to quilting to attaching the binding right on the longarm with the machine magically stitching away on its own with perfect precision. Wow! Technology brings the art of quilting to the 21st century.
