Welcome Message

Modern guru Angela Walters designed and quilted Dimensions for Modern Quilts Unlimited magazine.

Dear Quilters,

This past weekend I enjoyed some sewing at my machine, changing thread quite often. Oh yes, was I singing the praises of the automatic thread cutter on my Baby Lock. Just think how much time I saved just pushing the lever!

Which is how I got the idea for a segment you’ll see on this month’s Quilt Out Loud! While planning the show I was in a similar flurry of machine sewing and, spying my hand sewing basket, thought perhaps I’ve been making life harder for myself by not using needle threaders when hand sewing. So I ordered a bunch of these gadgets, packed them in my suitcase, and Mark and I tried them on camera.

I didn’t think of it at the time, but it’s pretty funny that we were in a very nice restaurant at the time – white table cloths and wine glasses in Litchfield Connecticut no less – and were threading needles. Oh life is good! Watch to see which we found to be our favorites.

Happy quilting,
