On this month’s Quilting Celebrations Patrick Lose’ guest Patti Connor shares a simple mini quilt project to make for a graduate.

Dear Quilters,

Have you dreamt of starting your own quilting business? Have you considered doing so with your spouse? Before you think such a thing impossible, watch the week’s segment of Quilt Out Loud!

I sat down with two couples who are in business together, and in both cases its working just fine. Granted, neither couple intended to work together. Jim Salonia retired and started working the business end of his wife Lisa’s quilt shop. (Though it’s not just business—the quilters love him!) And when Jim Cogliantry was down-sized from his job he learned a new skill, joining his wife Wilma in her thriving longarm business by taking on the simpler quilting.

Meet our quilting couples on this month’s Quilt Out Loud!

Happy quilting,
Jodie

For the Love of Feathers: Designs and Quilt with Longarm Quilter Judy Allen

She discovered the Art and Stitch software program which allows her to draw from scratch or take a photograph and turn that into a design. Jodie joins Judy at the computer to see just how easy it is to draw a pattern, make corrections, and play with the design.
