Episode 301 - Combining Two Passions
Jennifer Day
Jennifer Day combines two passions – photography and quilting – in her distinctive art quilts. First she has her photograph printed on Jacquard Inkjet Fabric at her local print shop and then completely covers the subject with thread painting. Free motion stitching covers the background. The quilts are heavy as they use up to 4,000 yards of thread in the stitching.

Jodie and Mark open the show from the Amish section of the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. Opened in 1893 this delicious venue houses a full city block of food vendors. Taking time from a little “food research” the duo shows new products for easy quilting and organization and play a video in which a new rotary ruler is tested by both a non-sewer and a seasoned quilter to see if it really works.
