This month on Quilt out Loud!, Mark Lipinski will introduce you to my friend Allie Allers. you will enjoy meeting her!
Allie literally write the book on Crazy quilting titled: Allie Aller's Crazy Quilting – Modern Piecing and Embellishing Techniques for Joyful Stitching. It held the top position in needlecraft books for several weeks after it came out, which is certainly something to brag about!
Allie’s work is fascinating. Her quilts range from traditional to Contemporary and oh yes, her modern crazy quilts maintain their crazy roots, but oh how they redefine crazy! Watch Mark's door knock with her this week and then next week follow along as she shows me how to make a crazy pieced block.

Short Takes on Longarm Quilting with Vicki Hoth
Jodie asks Vicki how to use up all those leftover pieces of batting that are too big to toss. Vicki shows several techniques to piece them together and a clever way to add batting if you run out while stitching on the longarm machine. Waste not!

She explains the three parameters for Crazy quilting and shows examples ranging from the expected to breathtaking modern versions of the technique. This isn’t grandma’s crazy quilting!
