Dear Quilting Friends,

Photo of JodieYes, “WOW!” to the eye candy quilt! If you haven’t seen Renae Haddadin’s work before you’re in for a treat. She’s obviously an expert quiltmaker and longarm quilter. So, you’ll be pleased to learn that she is our guest on the month’s episode of Quilt It! The Longarm Quilting Show. Read more about the episode below…

Learn more about what’s new on QNNtv.com by watching the July version of the video I do every month. You’ll get a peek into what’s in store for you on Quilt Out Loud! and Quilt It! The Longarm Quilting Show all month long.

Two of our show sponsors have exciting new products out this month. Watch Quilt Out Loud! to see the very steamy (with those words you know Mark was involved!) Velocity V50 iron from Reliable. It’s the little brother to the 100 and is orange! Gotta love it. And Gammill has introduced the latest model in their new Vision series, the Gammill Vision 22. You know techie me; I love the digital camera. Too cool.

Happy quilting and playing with the toys, and oogling quilts, and watching videos,
Jodie

P.S. Come meet me and sew with me in Chicago this fall at Quilting Together. It's a rare opportunity to send time with and learn from editors of your favorite magazines. And I hear there will be lots of goodies too!

Quilt Out Loud! July Episode

Segment 1: What's Up?

Jodie launches the first episode of the second season from the Northcott Fabrics booth at International Quilt Market in Minneapolis. Both the Photoshop diet and the in-the-flesh versions of Mark join her to open the show. Mark shows off his latest creation, his Chester Gardens fabric line. Mark turns a seriously amazing iron into steamy silliness as he and Art Garabedian introduce you to the latest introduction in Reliable Corporation’s lineup, the steamy velocity V50 iron.

Segment 2: Author Rose Hughes And Her Woolies

That Patchwork Place author Rose Hughes ( “Dream Landscapes” and “Exploring Embellishments”) shows Jodie how to use batting and wool to make her versatile and very cute “Woolies” which she uses to embellish her quilts and even turns them into jewelry. See how easy these little felted gems are to make!

Quilt It! The Long Arm Quilting Show

July’s Episode: Renae Haddadin's “Renae’s Bag of Tricks”

Quilt It - Segment 1

This quilt quickly turns into a fun bag with the pull of the drawstrings. For July's segment of Quilt It! The Longarm Show Renae will share how she made this bag using Renae's Mini Rays, arc templates, YLI's metallic threads and a HandiQuilter longarm machine.  The pattern is easy to follow by drawing a few circles and adding a few radiating lines.  Connect the dots with the acrylic arcs to form curved crosshatching.  Heavy threads used in the bobbin make the bag a real eye catcher.

The pattern for Renae’s Bag of Tricks is available on the Quilt It! The Longarm Quilting Show web site, click on Episode Notes.

Quilt It - Segment 1

Using her Mini Ray tool, Renae marks the fabric on the longarm machine to prepare it for her machine work. The marks are just a guide for the stitching, creating radiating lines in which to work her magic!
