Welcome |
We cannot believe how green everything is becoming. It is only the first of April, and the grass is being mowed and the flowers are in full bloom. During this time of the year the Midwest is usually in the dead-brown stage of nature, thawing out from a harsh winter. We thought you would like to see how things are shaping up outside of our shop here in Winterset, IA. Across the street we caught a glimpse of Mini Irises blooming in full beauty. Let nature inspire you as the earth begins to live and bloom in your area. We would love to see your inspiration so send us pictures at sewandtell@fonsandporter.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
Happy Quilting!

Tips Galore! |
Quilting from the Back
To create a fun, all-over machine quilting design, choose a very large-scale print for your quilt back. Motifs like flowers, fish, and animals work well. Machine quilt from the back, around the fabric motifs. This is a great solution if fabrics on the quilt top are difficult to mark. Visit the tips page on the Fons & Porter Web site for more great ideas.
