Teeny, Tiny Stitches

I loved the Appomattox Courthouse quilt that you ran in your May/June 2009 issue of Love of Quilting. Now that I'm done making the quilt, I love it even more with all the tiny hand quilting my friend did for me. I needed the pattern converted to fit my king-size bed, so I had a quilting friend who is a whiz at math help me to enlarge the blocks. It was a joy making the top, and having my friend do the hand quilting made this quilt even more special to me.

Changing It Up, In A Big Way

I have quilted for awhile, and I have made a few quilts from your magazine, but, the Lilliana pattern from your March/April 2010 issue, really caught my eye. I have two son-in-laws that like eagles. I searched the internet until I found a great eagle design for the center. I went to my local quilt shop, Quilters Dream, and they helped me pick the greatest fabrics. The Lilliana pattern showcased the eagle perfectly. Thank you for your great patterns that can be changed sometimes in big ways.
On The Edge

When the May/June 2010 issue came out, I fell in love with the front cover quilt, the Watermelon & Shoofly pattern. I didn't need another quilt but, I did need a tablecloth for our outdoor space, and this pattern was perfect. I used the blocks to border a flowery print. It made a cheerful and practical tablecloth – no batting and the cloth was reversible. Keep up the good work!
2 Much Fun!

I made two of your patterns for Christmas. The Snowman Patches (Nov/Dec 2005 issue) caught my eye several years ago. I finally made it this year for my Bunco group gift exchange – the recipient was delighted! The Chicken Dance pattern (Mar/April 2009) also caught my eye and inspired me to create a Christmas tabletopper. The “circle” was MUCH easier to make than I anticipated. Thank you so much for these great patterns.
