Don't miss the fun - mark your calendar for next year!

Once again, Des Moines, Iowa hosted the annual AQS Quilt Show and Contest. The show was held last week at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines, just minutes away from Landauer Publishing where Fons and Porter had partnered up with them for a massive warehouse sale of fabric and quilt related books. Quilters could also enjoy a short drive through the scenic, fall colored Madison County countryside and visit the Fons & Porter Quilt Shop here in Winterset where Marianne greeted every visitor. The AQS show also coincides with the annual Madison County Covered Bridge Festival each year which offers a whirlwind of good old fashioned fun, including a quilt show, of course!

If you missed the excitement in Winterset, no need to worry!  We are holding a virtual warehouse sale!

New Magazines!

On the publication side, we've been very busy working on the new seasonal lineup! We can now announce that three exciting, new publications are waiting for your review.

First, we've teamed up with Patrick Lose to create the debut issue of 'Quilting Celebrations' - it's packed full of seasonal and holiday projects.

Then, we have our second issue of 'Learn to Quilt' issue. This was recently released with a companion DVD full of easy projects, tips and lessons; and of course, don't miss our Nov/Dec issue of Love of Quilting that hits the stands next week. This issue is full of beautiful tree skirts; pincushions that are a real hoot; more Dr. Seuss fun, and so much more!

Check out the slideshow on all of these great new projects. And if you are a dog and/or cat lover, we have some 'too cute to miss' on-line bonus quilts that you just have to see, Dog Daze and Feline Frenzy, and Mrs. Sew & Sew are the perfect fall and winter projects.

And, if that just isn't enough to keep you busy, in a few weeks the winter issue of Easy Quilts will be out with all kinds of fantastic, but quick and easy seasonal quilts, projects and designs.

As you can see from my kitchen, red is my favorite color. Actually, there is a little bit of red in every room of our cabin. So, when I saw Watermelon & Shoofly in the May/June 2010 issue, I just had to make it.
